The WHO recommends the treatment of trachoma with community-wide MDA with a single dose of azithromycin as part of the SAFE strategy. In the Solomon Islands, this program had demonstrable collateral benefit by reducing the prevalence of urogenital Chlamydia trachomatis(Ct) infections.
