
Scott McPherson has more than 12 years’ experience of researching and developing national trachoma strategies and implementing trachoma/NTD programs across multiple countries.
Scott currently works for RTI International as a Senior Manager on the ACT to END NTDs | East Program. He recently finished three years as the Chief of Party for RTI International’s NTD programs in Ethiopia, where he coordinated USAID-supported trachoma partners to implement the comprehensive trachoma treatment and prevention strategy, called SAFE, in one of the largest trachoma programs in the world.
Working with the health ministries of several countries, Scott has also contributed to the creation of new trachoma partnerships between donors, NTD implementing partners, WASH groups and government offices. Scott studied infectious disease epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is currently engaged in research focusing on the safety of co-administration of azithromycin, ivermectin and albendazole as part of his PhD program at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
